Our committee is now working on a deadline to figure out what to buy for our Maker Space. In the middle of testing we were told we had one week to submit our order! So our group met on Tuesday May 26th to try and narrow down out first list of items to purchase

Answers to Questions:
- Question about amounts to purchase
-
You actually have $12,500 to spend on the devices and accessories. [And, another $6000 to spend in the MakerSpace.]So, if you choose the Ipad mini’s (approximately $300 each), you would have money to purchase the 32 you want ($9600) with enough left over for either a cart or protective cases for the Ipads. As an example, East Forsyth is purchasing 30 Ipad mini’s with Otterbox for the 30, and one cart for $14,000. The school is paying for the amount over the $12,500.
- Allow Approximately 5%. for shipping
- The district requires that you
purchase Applecare and Otterboxes with any iPad order. Apple Care is good
for two years and Apple will replace the device if it stops functioning (won’t
charge, touchscreen unresponsive, etc), and it covers one screen
replacement. There is no deductible.
Are you purchasing through Apple Education? If you purchase through a reseller rather than Apple Education, we will not be able to offer the same management features or support to your i-Pads, because they will not be part of our Apple deployment services program.Jennifer EllingtonSystems Administration
- Just make a list of the items you want with vendor name and item number, cost, etc. We will actually do the ordering and po from our office. Kim Marion
